| I'm thinking about getting myself a laptop so I want to know people's opinions on this. Plus I'm just interested in general as Mac is completely alien to me! |

| When I was looking it up on google, it said something about mac's not needing anti-virus software so you end up saving money on that, unlike microsoft which you have to update periodically. But microsoft has more software available, although they do make versions that can be put on the mac. I think the mac's look nicer though. |

Apple MAC!
Every time!!!!!!!!
I have used Macs and PC's (not windows) daily at work for the last 11 Years. There is NO contest!! Iv got a PC at home but also a MAC iBook laptop.
Have too say though..................
If your buying a computer for surfing the net, ebay, iTunes and messanger. Get a Bog Standard Windows based PC/Lap top.
If your going to use your comp for photography/graphics or major (non office based work) Get a MAC, its worth the extra cash!

Also remeber a computer should last you a few years minimum! So get the best you can aford, if not for what it can do butthe basice spec, as what is classed as hight spec today will be entry level in 12 months lol.
For the price of a entry level MAC u can get a half desent PC? So just a case of being realistic and buying for your own ppersonal demands. |

Awhhh well, you Can use a 2 button "Two Clicker" mouse on a MAC! Just no need. Could say the same that any Comp that needs hundreds of ponds worth of Ainti-virus software in its life-time, can handel the sort of graphics with out being upgraded and runs slowely the more you do.

Like i said though, if your only ever going to surf n maybe use office, you cant go wrong with a Windows based PC.
The Trade standard for any creative design, photography, film & music, Web, and illustration is the MAC G4 upwards. Just can do the simple office and home based tasks to and very well.

I do a bit of music production on my Pc but nest time im getting a Mac, its so much more stable. Macs are aimed more if you do things with power sapping programs, they are more stable and have no known viruses.
Pc's are better if your just wanting it to watch movies and play games. Although vista is supposed to be a pile of shit. Lots of hardware isnt supported still and some xp software wont work on vista.
You could be really hardcore and go linux! lolol :lol: |

Your right about Vista too. My flate mates got a Lap-top with Vista, its soooo much trouble! Cant even handel a iPod!
We have a few at work and there going back untill its sorted. |
